  1. Obviously buy an album....pick a theme......pick colours and embellishments to suit that theme!.....decorate to your choice!  add some writing to tell people what the page is about!

    two tips- keep it simple!

and buy paper and embellishments that are acid and lignin free! otherwise it will ruin your pages over time, turning them yellow and actually make them disintegrate!

    Hope that helps!

  2. Most of the answers so far have regarded Paper Scrapbooking.  Check out Digital Scrapbooking.  It is fun, cheap, and addicting.  Go Digital Scrapbooking is a great site to check out.  They have freebies daily and are great at helping newbies out.

  3. A scrapbook can be as creative as you want. First need to buy an album to put the pictures in. According to the pictures, you might want to develop a theme. Like if you have pictures of the time when you went to the beach, you might want to go to your local craft store and find background paper that has beach items and look for beach stickers, mini seashells or beach items to place near the photos to give it a 3d look. You can also write down a caption underneath the picture to remember what you were doing at the time or who you were with. The best kind of background paper to use is the kind in the craft store that they set aside a whole aisle for. You want to use sturdy thick paper.

  4. Scrapbooking is really fun! Many people do pictures, but you can also put small items which are special to you, such as newspaper clippings, ticket stubs, coins, even a lock of hair. Go to a craft store and get an album in the scrapbook aisle. It comes with the pages you need, along with the protectors. I recommend the kind that holds the pages in with screws, as opposed to the spiral kind, which wear out fairly quickly. There are even kits to get you started. Each page you create is a work of art, showcasing your pictures and items in your own unique style. You'll also need some adhesive -- tape or glue, a pair of sharp scissors reserved just for scrapbooking, and whatever you need to decorate your page. Scrapbookers use stickers, punches, cut-outs, special scissors, and lots of other things to make their albums, but you can buy what you want or need as you go. Have fun and get creative!

  5. I always tell frist timers this. Get a scrapbook kit. They have everything you need including glue and scissors. Look for one with step by step instructions and examples of pages. It will say so on the box. As you get a feel for it. You can start adding other paper and stickers to you kit and soon you will feel like an expert. Good luck

This website does not offer the same old online scrapbooking stuff--it is not the cheap, impersonal photobooks either. These are high-quality--library-bound, hand-stitched, hard-back, acid, lignon, and chlorine free books, plus they are completely custom--you can do virtually anything that you could do by hand. So why use it? Because the quality is better, it takes less space (all web-based, no software even!), less time, and less money!
