I WOULD imagine that a weed whacker motor doesn't have the torque needed to move anything of considerable weight.  A chain saw motor might do the trick, check the manufacturers specs to find out.  Although mounting the motor and the throttle controls could be difficult depending on your skill level.

A midsized chainsaw motor would propel your bike, and it has been done before.  You can use the regular chainsaw clutch but you will need the services of a welder and machine shop to build motor mounts and change the chainsaw chain sprocket to either a belt pulley (which will require a belt pulley on the drive wheel as well) or bicycle chain sprocket.  And of course someone has to calculate pulley/sprocket sizes according to the rpm's of the engine and the kind of driving you will be doing-mountain climbing, open highway or stop and go city driving.  Since it is a motorized vehicle you will also need lights, tail lights, turn and brake signals, and mirrors.  The thottle and emergency shut off installations would be easy after all that.
