Well, most high paying jobs will not offer a job position to a person that has been in trouble with the law.

However, some jobs admire the honesty people give upfront.  

So if you're honest from the start about your past, you might have a better chance on landing a job.  

The person that gives you the job will most likely understand and not judge you for it since they are giving you the job in the first place.

I could never understand how a misdemeanor for theft could affect the ability to get a job totally unrelated to the financial field but I guess its still a character thing.
