  1. It all depends where you are located. If you want to deal, some areas have schools, some don't.

Where I live the casinos around here will train you how to deal blackjack in house. All you have to do is go to their human resources office and fill out an application. If they are hiring, you will go through an in-house training course(usually about 2 weeks long). They charge for this, I am not sure how much, I suppose it depends on where. One of the casinos even pay you back the training fee if you work their for over 90 days.

Other areas I believe will make you take a dealing course at a community college or send you to some sort of dealing school.

I would just check to see if they offer training on grounds or if you have to come in with experience or graduate from a certified dealing school. I work in a card club that wants at least 6 months of experience dealing at least one game.

Hosting is also good depending on your location. If you are in Vegas as an experience host, you can make some major money.

In smaller areas, you will not make so much. I have know some people who really liked to host, around here they make 9-10 bucks an hour, but they like the socialization with regular gamblers.

I would personally rather deal than host unless I landed an unbelievable position in vegas. You will make a lower hourly rate, but with tips as a dealer, you will at least make double 9-10 bucks an hour.

The best thing to do is get a hold of the HR department at the casinos around your area and see if they have a list of open positions and find out what is available and what the requirements are for each position.

The gambling thing. Most places won't let you play there if you work their.

Some places have special days of the week that employees can play.

Some places limit what you can and can't play if you gamble their.

In the us at least that restricition is limited to the certian casino you work at. Their are so many different casinos ran by seperate tribe, different owners, etc . They are not all connected.

  2. GO ONLINE TO THAT CASINO AN APPLY

    SOME NEAR ME

    HARRAHS -JOLIET

    OLGELBY-EMPRESS-JOLIET

    HORSESHOE-HAMMOND

  3. you can't gamble at THAT casino but can at any other.  some will even let you gamble at the one you work at but not often.  just go to the casino and go to human resources, they are usually always hiring.  i don't think it would be too bad, but talk to some of the dealers at the casino and see what they say about their job.  if they act like it's terrible, there will be a reason for it.  the dealers at the casino i like to go to say it is aweful now that there is new ownership and they aren't making as good of tips now.  the nicer casinos get better tips awhich is part of your wages.
