I am an absolute demon when it comes to correcting ill use of the English language, spelling, punctuation and grammar. Does anyone know how I could make a career out of it? Thanks.

  1. The NUJ runs courses, I believe.

London School of Publishing runs courses (see link) but these are expensive.

Avoid the ones in the back of the Guardian that say 'Can you find the Mis-steak in this?' and offer to train you.

  2. Try the Internet. Just input 'Proof Reading'. I proof read English texts which have already been translated from French and German into English.

Most clients will expect you to use the tracking facility in Word. This shows your corrections, but also shows what has been corrected. It's a great tool.
