How would I clean a wax finish mahogany table?

Question

I need to know how i would clean a wax finish mahogany table that has been polished incorrectly and has kind of dull smudge/streaks left behind. Please can somebody tell me what would bring all of this off without harming the mahogany or the wax finish.

According to the BBC television program "How Clean is my House" you put a few drops of dish liquid in a bowl of warm water.  Wring the rag out as hard as you can and clean one spot at a time.  Follow with clear water the same way and then re wax.
