After a 15% discount on the original price, the jacket was sold for $60. What was the original price of the jacket?

  1. OMG I hate those!

    You need to use multiplicatation on this to find how much was taken off then add it to 60


  2. $60 / (1-0.15) = 60 / 0.85 = 70.59

  3. 85/100 = 60/x

    cross multiply

    6000 = 85x

    x = 70.59

    $70.59

  4. 1.  85/100 (because it is a 15% discount) = 60/X (jacket price is $60)

    2.  Cross Multiply and get 6000 = 85X

    3.  Divide by 85

    4. And get X = $70.59

    The original price of the jacket is $70.59.
