I have a bottle of Milagro, anejo. I don't want to do margaritas. What are some other drink receipes that will bring out or compliment the flavor of this tequila?

  1. shots baby!

  2. I completely agree with P_Rick, but for those of you who don't know what sangrita is, it's a non-alcoholic juice based drink that you sip alternately with tequila and lime. There are many variations but the 2 main versions are one that's orange juice based and one that is tomato juice based. Here are a couple recipes:

    orange juice based

    1 oz orange juice (freshly-squeezed)

¾ oz - 1 oz lime juice (depending on the sweetness of your oranges)

    ½ oz real pomegranate grenadine

3 dashes hot sauce or ¼ tsp chile powder

    tomato juice based

    4 oz. tomato juice

    2 oz. orange juice

    2 oz. lime juice

    4 tsp. pomegranate juice

    1/2 tsp. hot sauce

1/8 tsp. salt, or to taste

    6-8 healthy dashes Worcestershire sauce

Don't mix these with the tequila. If you have the tall glass tequila shot glasses, fill one with tequila and one with sangrita. It looks very festive.

Oh - you might be able to find pre-made bottle sangrita  - look near the mixers. - especially if you live in the southwest.

  3. Sipped slowly is best; straight up, on the rocks or chilled.

A squeeze of fresh lime can enhance the flavor, but skip the salt and definitely don't shoot a good tequila (that's for novices and drunken college evenings when you don't know any better).

Anejos are best as is, so I personally recommend blancos and reposados for mixed drinks, as anejos mixed with a bunch of other stuff don't allow you to savor the flavor.

  4. MILAGRO COSMOPOLITAN

    - 1½ oz Milagro Anejo Tequila

    - ¼oz Triple Sec

    - 1½ tbsp cranberry juice

    - 2 tsp fresh lime juice

Shake ingredients with ice and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with cranberry and orange peel.

  5. I would sip it straight up with sangrita and lime juice as chasers

  6. Milagro would be an excellent base for the drink known as a "body shot" (see link for recipe).

Adding a little salt perfectly complements the burning sensation and belly button taste.

  7. Straight...no lime or salt.  good sipping tequila

  8. body shot is a good one.

also put some salt on the shot glass with tequila then, drink it straight, and get some lemon, and sip the juice.
