How would I find a death record?

I live in Arizona and I am looking for a death record that is New Orleans, does anyone know a website where i could possibly find it?

  1. See if there is a county website for the county the individual died in. You can, in most states, order a copy of the certificate on line for a fee of course. Good Luck!


  2. Call the county court house in New Orleans.  They can send you a copy of the death record for a small fee.  

    Additional:  You could always go on the internet and do a search for the newspaper in the town he lived in, and check the obituaries.  Most newspapers have an archive section in the obits too.  I hope you don't find his name in there!  Good luck!

  3. Most doubtedly, you would not be able to locate those records online. Most all county or parish clerks require you to be present (as I had to get a copy of my mother's death certificate last week) and fill out a form- not to say that some states could be different- but you may have to go there to take care of that business.

  4. Check with the New Orleans PD, coroners office, or newspapers.
