How would I go about finding a charity place nearby where I can volunteer?

I don't live in a big city. I looked up nearby charities on the search engine and couldn't find anything and I kinda wanted something nearby. Any ideas on something else I can do to volunteer at?Or how to look it up? I had wanted to work at one of those places that clothe and feed the homeless or something like that.

look up the following:

Salvation Army

women's shelters

children's shelters

Habitat for Humanity or Homes are Possible (HAPI)

food banks

Or contact your local Chamber of Commerce.  They should have a listing of local service clubs and organizations that you could choose from to join, such as Lion's Club, Sertoma, Exchange Club, etc.

You can ask your pastor, or visit a hospital, or a  nursing home.No matter where you serve, God will be with you.
