Question:

How would I go about finding medical research?

I don't know if medical research is too strong a phrase, but, basically, there's a lot of things I'd like to find out for story-writing purposes, but I wouldn't have thought I could go and ask my doctor or something because that would be wasting her time when she could be seeing other patients.

I was thinking of looking for some books or something, but, I'd like to be able to ask questions and get straight answers.

Is there someone I can specifically go to to ask about this kinda stuff?

  1. Wikipedia is pretty good, and you can find specific articles on PubMed.

  2. Sorry...don't know

  3. Usually someone who would be educated enough to give you answers would charge you for their time, unless you can find a friend/family member who is knowledgeable. I'd suggest finding any used medical books on half.com, human anatomy/physiology books, medical dictionaries, etc. There are enough resources out there to get some good research in yourself. Be careful of online sites which may give false info.

    Good luck!

  4. Umm, Google?

Just type your question in and hit "Enter." Generally you get about 300,000 leads.

It's available 24X7X365, in your room, and it doesn't complain if you ask stupid questions or repeat yourself.
