How would I maximize (or multiply) the amount of DC power coming from a AC/DC transformer?

  1. DC power doesn't go through a transformer. Transformers are all AC to AC.

    They change the voltage and current. Since the power in and the power out are the same (except you lose a little in heat), Vin * Iin = Vout * Iout.

    So, to get more power, get a bigger transformer. Of course, it will also use more power, so you'll get a bigger electric bill.

    Example: If you use a 1:2 step up transformer at 120V 10A, you will get out 240V at about 5A. Twice the voltage gives 1/2 the current, since power = volt * amp.
