How would I remove methanol from methanoic KOH solution?

  1. You can evaporate all of the solution.  Doing it under vacuum would be quickest.  Take it to dryness and then add water if you wanted an aqueous solution.  

    Or, if you want to get to water solution and not go through dryness, you can extract with methylene chloride, which is miscible with alcohol but not with water.  You may have to add more water to make this work well, if there is little already in the solution.  That will remove the alcohol, leaving a water solution of KOH behind.


  2. Is there any water in the solution?

    There is always evaporation.  Do you need to collect the methanol?  If so, drag out the distillation unit.
