I’m not in love or anything, just curious and I am dating a South African, so if I ever do fall in love...I would like to surprise him... or make him laugh at me...or both.

I appreciate your help

  1. Ek is lief vir jou - I love you

    Jy's s**y - You're s**y

  2. Not sure how to say the you're s**y one, or how to say I love you and pronounce it correctly, but this is what I found and it was the same on several sites.

I love you can be said "Ek het jou liefe" or "Ek is lief vir jou"

  3. Here's the pronunciation guide. They're the symbols I'm going to use to represent the Afrikaans sounds.

/a/ as the 'a' in 'act'

/ay/ as the 'ay' in 'day'

/e/ as the 'e' in 'open'

/ee/ as the 'ee' in 'seat'

/i/ as the 'i' in 'sit'

/oh/ as the 'o' in 'snow'

/œ/ as the 'e' in 'bet' with rounded lips. Say 'bet' with your mouth positioned to say 'boot'. It should sound similar to the 'eu' in the French 'neuf' or the 'ö' in the German 'können'

I love you - Ek is lief vir jou/ Ek het jou lief

    /ak es leef fer yoh/ /ak hit yoh leef/

    You're s**y - Jy's wulps/s**y

    /yays vœlps/ /yays sik-see/

  4. south africans speak english

  5. Ek smaak jou Stukkend.

  6. Ek het jou lief

    Jy is baie verleidelik

  7. who knows just give them cherry filled loveheart shape chocolates theyll get the idea
