How would I solve this math problem?

-5/3C=22

I know this is a simple math problem, but I just want to know how I would do this problem.

  1. i believe its -5/30 = c


  2. ok well you cant solve it unless you know what "C" is so you would have to put undefined  

  3.     -5/3C=15       you divide each side by -5/3

        -5/3    

    Then you will have

    C = 15            

          -5/3

    or  

    C = 15 * - 3/5

                    

    Simplify 15 by 5 = 3



    Therefore C = 3* -3

                   C = -9


  4. What you want to do first is get rid of the denominator on the "C" side so you multiply both sides by three to cancel the denominator.

    3 x (-5/3)C = 15 x 3

    Once you do that it should look like:

    -5C = 45

    After that, divide by -5 to get C alone and the answer should be:

    C = -9
