Just a question. Im thinking about taking a mini tuba (a bit bigger than a euphonium) on the airplane from Texas To Pensylvania. Is this possible to take on board?

  1. "carry on", I think is fine, if it will fit under the seat.

    In a suitcase?

    or oversize baggage

  2. The best thing to do is to call the airline you'll be using as ask what accomodations can be made to allow you to bring your tuba along.  It might be required that you put it with your checked baggage since there's only so much room for carry-on stuff and people generally tend to carry-on far more than they actually need for travelling purposes.  Make sure your instrument is packed in a sturdy case and that the tuba is well protected against any potential damage.  Baggage handlers are not known for their gentle ways.

  3. You will have to check it in as luggage, because it cannot fit under the seat nor in the overhead compartment.

  4. Very carefully….da dum dum

  5. Checking it is your best bet.  I think it's too large for a carry on.

  6. You could probably check the tuba. You might be charged extra due to the size and weight but my friend flew to Floridia with his tuba.

  7. You should be able to if it fits in the over head carrier. And if you dont have too many other carry-ons. Your allowed on carry-on and one personal item (backpack, purse, etc.) as long as it can fit under the seat or in the overhead.
