How would I write a receipt for someone for about $1800?

The receipt is for my grandma to give to Social Security....

  1. A receipt needs a few things depending on a lot of different things. Normally needs your name and address a receipt number, a signature. And what the cash is for. And her name and address. and the amount of the cash.

    As long as all of those things are on there it should it be fine. If this is going to be something your going to be needing to do allot think about going to staples and picking up one of their receipt books that are pre-numbered.

    Another good idea is jump into an H&R Block (they normally give advice for free) and ask what you have writen is ok to give. They will give you tips on whatelse you need to do if it is not suffiecant.


  2. All it needs to say is "Received $1800 from (her name) for services rendered," your name, the date.

    Social Security might not accept it, though, since it's been paid to a family member.
