How would I write the sum of a, b, and c as an algebraic expression?

also, if you know the value of y (in a different question) how could you find the slope, the y, and the x intercept?

  1. a+b+c

    ..and for the second part, you can find all of those with a known y value.  The equation for a line is y=mx+b , b is the y intercept and m is the slope.  Just solve for x to get the x intercept.

    y=3x-6 is the same form as

    y=mx+b

    ...so 3 is the slope and -6 is the y-intercept!
