How would India be today If it has not got independence from Britain?

Will it be like USA ? I sincerely do not want to hurt any ones feelings,but want a honest answer.

Perhaps something like US before Americans drove the British out of the country- or worse.

Drained of all the natural resources for the benefit of England. Indian slaves would have been seen on the streets of London, not those educated and business personnel.

US did that so many centuries ago. In 1776.

India did it only 61 years ago. India is like a tiny baby compared to great, great, great , x* grand papa in years, compared to India.

  India is making progress in spite sanctions from the Western World.

This is a educated reply from one who has studied History and Political Science.  

Brits developed only for their own communication. Not for the benefit of India ever.  So do not think India would have developed as India has done after they left.

It will be like as it was before 75 to 100 years ago.....  With no development, with lots of  slavery, with no freedom or liberty, just like people in a cage we would be living........ (I'm not intending to hurt anybody's feelings, as I'm saying the truth)

The physical infrastructure would probably be a lot better. And you'd have a lot less incidents involving frenzied, blood thirsty mobs and militias going on bloody rampages against Muslims and Dalits. Much like the Arab world and Africa, India is riven by virulent and destructive ethnic hatreds that will forever fester and erupt into explosion of murderous violence in the abscene of a colonial government to impose law and order on the seething masses.

No doubt the British did a lot of developmental work which helped India progress, like the railways, the education system etc. But had India not been independent today then it wouldn't have been India at all it would still be "British India". I don't think it would have been like USA because the British were here for the natural resources and once they would have exploited our natural and human resources completely they would have gone away leaving India in a miserable situation. Even if they would have stayed in India , India still wouldn't b like USA because u r forgettin that USA is "Land Of The Free" which India would have never been under the British rule.

If u r talking about USA in terms of development...yes British India might have been developed...but then what is development if v get it at the cost of our freedom.

Social,technological,caste-based political scenario would have been much better.So much reservations wouldn't have been there under British rule.Also better architecture and planning and infrastructure under British Rule.
