  1. Mendis will do very well against the rest of the world. If the best players of spin could not handle him, then what chance does the rest of the world has? Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman are all great players of spin and have played greats like Murali and Warne quite successfully in the past. But they could not even scratch the surface with Mendis. This will go to prove that Mendis will be a great bowler unless injury were to stop him! Mendis will end up with the most wickets in the Champions Trophy and end up as the player of the series.

  2. WHO EVER IS THE BEST AT STANDING BACK AND HITTING HIM AFTER THE BALL HAS PITCHED AND ALREADY MOVING AS I THINK THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO PLAY ..IE OF THE BACK FOOT ......SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS LOL

    .

  3. omg mendis don't talk about him!!!!! he can bowl out any batsman in the world thats what i think he is the next  murali

  4. the same way he deals with everyone else. as long as its on a sub-continent pitch i think he will be ok.

  5. Except for Michael Clarke most would struggle. As you may have noticed I consider Clarke as one of the best batters in the world.

  6. he is d real champ yar.......... he will adjst anywhr.

  7. This is really an interesting question. Indians are generally good spin players and their falling against a "Rookie" is not a good sign for other batsmen. Mendis will be the next Murli. Initially, all batsmen will have problem against him but they will somehow get used to him.

  8. by giving away fours and sixes off every ball.

  9. honestly speaking if those fantastic 4 found Ajantha Mendis will be very difficult to handle as,

other most batsmen will succumb to him meekly

  10. U silly lakan. that mango thower is just plain cheater. youre lukcy mendis got lucky.

  11. Ajantha Mendis is expected to do well, and continue his devastating spells for the opposition, because none of the players of other countries are used to his style of bowling, and initially they are bound to have troubles in tackling him. I think it's never easy to play a versatile bowler like Mendis, who can bowl a mixture of all sorts of deliveries, including offbreaks, legbreaks, googlie, flippers, and especially his main weapon-the mesmerizing carrom balls. The Indians had a taste of Mendis already. Our players are indeed considered the best players of spin, and they struggled so desperately against this newcomer, due to his unorthodox bowling action. So, batsmen of other teams, too may find it tough to cope with this mystery spinner, whose action is totally unfamiliar to them. However, if they look to attack Mendis from the beginning, he may not seem such a great threat. It's by being aggressive that Sehwag was able to handle Mendis, when the more experienced, and technically better players collapsed.

However, I believe  that Mendis has a huge potential of becoming a one of the greatest spinners of all times, and Sri Lanka should keep him as a reserve for crucial matches, and then use him as a surprise weapon in the ICC Champions trophy. If Mendis is disclosed right from the beginning, others may become used to him. Then he may not be that effective in the crucial matches, as he would be if brought into action all of a sudden. This strategy helped SL in the Asia Cup as well.

  12. I think he will cope very well.

  13. they would perform well there to

  14. As of now, Mendis is unstoppable. If he can bowl so well against Indian great batsmen like Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman and Sourav, I think that he will do so well against the others. Only Sehwag and Gambhir have understood how to bat against him. So, good luck to him.

However, this guy has one weakness. The ball is spun with a motion similar to a strike of carroms striker, with one finger. His entire career is dependent on this finger. If anything happens to that finger, he is gone. He better preserve that finger from any accidents.
