I have to make up an interview for a play between Atticus and Scout...and if you could help me out on how Scout talks sometimes it would be amazingly helpful!

I really don't have the time to go searching for it because I have to finish the script

  1. The only way to do it right is to get it in your mind's ear.

Read passages of the book, or rent the movie.  Any advice given you here would be misleading and inadequate.

  2. Having read the book a few months ago, I would say that Scout would speak in maybe an understanding way. Throughout the book she is trying to understand the human nature and behaviours around her. She would be very inquisitive, use a few (but not many) big words, and say what's on her mind (if it takes place at the beginning of the book. If it tqakes place at the end or after then make her more thoughtful and understanding, and a little more adult.)

  3. she'd be kind of frank, honest, and use a kids voice... maybe not speak in "proper english"

  4. Above all, Scout was a tomboy.  She'd have a laid-back attitude and would talk in a Southern accent (but that doesn't have to be used - it might get overdone and appear comical).  She'd be honest though, and would just talk the way an innocent tomboy would who thinks that the world is really very simple.  She wouldn't appear disinterested, just laid-back and not in any rush.  Hope this helps!
