How would a 13 year old new to volleyball find out how to play on a team in San Jose California?

watch people play it and just try playing it with people that know how to and they can help

You would have to practice a lot before you tried out. Just get a volley ball and a concrete wall and start hitting the ball overhand. put your hands together and practice hitting under hand on your wrists right next to your hand  and overhand with your finger tips . Do this for hours and hours until you get good ball control. Then go out and join the  team. May be too late this year, but get ready for next year.

Watch plenty of games on t.v and practice w/ ure friends as much as possible!

just practice or try out for a club team. take advantages of any camps or volleyball clinics. try to get ur friends involved and practice w/ them

Volley ball is kind of the same where ever you are and is easy to learn, practice , and enjoy.the only things you need to know to start are the basics the pass, the set, and the underhand serve.  but most importantly is to have FUN!!!!!!! Good Luck
