  1. If you're good, it shouldn't be hard.

A good manager will help you develop as a fighter.  Some managers also act as agents, and negotiate contracts for you, but the bigger pro fighters usually have agents to go along with their managers.

A good manager will get you regular work, either amateur or (when you're ready) pro.  They will have you fighting regularly, and will often have you booked a couple of fights in advance assuming you can stay healthy.

Finding a manager:  there is a good way and an easy way, though neither way is all that hard.

    1) join a good MMA camp.  There are a lot out there.  Working at the MMA camp will give you a good chance to test your skills and fitness, and will give you a group of people you know you can trust.  Chances are someone at the camp will end up being your manager.  If not, they will probably be able to reccomend someone they've had good experiences with in the past.

    2) The easy way: go to www.mmarecruiter.com  There is a button you can hit to find a manager.  Talk to them and see what you can find.

If you're going to fight you NEED a coach.  Hopefully you already have one of those.

    good luck!

  2. Usually whoever trains highly decorated MA's have a good idea of who the good managers are because they have been connected with the sport for long periods of time and have made connections with folks in management.  Some instructors do the managing of thier fighters or have a manager that he/she sends their fighters to because they trust them.  Good managers make it so you only worry about training and fighting, staying healthy and out of trouble.  They use theri contacts to get fights, sposors, negotiate contracts and help to find great training sources and partners.

  3. You wouldn't have to.

    A manager would spot them.

A good manager would get you the best deal available, and prevent you from being screwed.

  4. not to be an ***...but wouldnt anyone highly "decorated" in MMA know where to find a manager?

    I dont know...
