How would a hot tub affect a pool table in the same room?

The felt on the table would take a beating. Probably rot out quickly from the moisture.

My dad's been working for Olhausen Billiards for awhile now, i asked him and he said that the hot tub would let off high heat that will effect the inner side of the rails which are made of rubber will then become crispy and hard...Not such a good idea because bad rails will definitely effect the whole game

Here's a simple solution to all of the correct answers that the humidity will affect the pool table:  If you have the money, install a high CFM exhaust fan (I recommend Panasonic FV-20VQ3 (quiet enough not to be heard over the pump) Maybe $500-750 installed.  Then, have frameless, thick glass shower doors installed, floor to ceiling, between the hot tub area and the pool table, to minimize the air transfer between the two spaces.  Maybe another couple grand, depending on how wide the room, how far the glass goes.  Put the vent fan on a motion sensor, so that anytime someone goes in and takes the cover off the hot tub, it turns on the fan.  Then ask your guests to keep the glass door closed while they are using the hot tub.

i would say yes because of all the steam that comes off of it

oops. i didnt realize you asked how. haha well i would think that the steam and humidity from the hot tub would destroy the wood on the pool table. probably rot it.
