How would a local store owner in your community use the internet to expand the business ?

First, by making it known to the in-store shoppers (through fliers, signs, etc) that they can shop 24/7 by using the internet, with free delivery within a certain distance and with a specific order size ($ amount).  Stress the quality and convenience for busy people.

I'd also start advertising by links on other websites (as there are targeted ads here on Y/A based on the topic) so I could get a national/international customer base.  Include different delivery charges for sending by different priorities.  Of course, this would work a lot better for something like clothing or non perishable foods than, say, ice cream.

There are now plenty of commuity based websites they could link to or rent advertising space on. Change the entry often to show current promotions and specials.
