I am curious about how it would affect real estate/property values, as well as crime, etc. If anyone has any experience with this or knows any statistics, please let me know. Thanks!

  1. A casino introduced to a community will bring jobs to the area, funding for the area and boost tourism.

The downside is that some people may develop a gambling addiction. But even if this is the case, casinos have their own rehabilitation programs for people with gambling problems to recieve councelling. I had to learn about it during a national diploma in casino operations a few years back. My memory is a bit hazy at the moment.

There are a lot of pros and cons whenever anything new is introduced to a community, but its mainly about "is this going to be better for our town/city"

  2. uhm well i live in las vegas so i would have tons of XP with casinos and yes it does raise property vaule because people always want to live near a casino and yes crime goes up.

  3. ok welll first of all it would destroy all of humanity...\

  4. I've never seen anything good come from a casino in the long-term. It will boost economy in the short-term, but then lag it down afterward.

The only exception is in Vegas where the economy is based upon reinventing itself with new casinos (seemingly every week) But most communities cannot accomplish that realistically.

  5. Negatively, it brings property values down and draws all sorts of crime.

  6. let some people have fun, grandma.

  7. There's a casino in my town that was built not too long ago. It helped bring in a lot of money to our schools and community, and being that we're a small town, that helped build our town up quite a bit. Crime is minimal, but that's for my town. I don't know if it affects real estate values, but I would think it would, since more people will be looking to move here because of the casino and the jobs that it offers.

  8. It would make the crime go up because ppl would lose money and they would try to steal stuff and sell  i to get it bk but t wouldnt really do much to the real estate and propety values

  9. There are many advantages and disadvantages.

    Pros:

    Provides jobs for the community

    Boosts the local economy

    Cons:

    Crime goes up

Gambling addiction can be a serious problem in the community
