I know of a county school that lacks funding in all areas ( teachers only receive $500 for the school YEAR to provide for students, the roof leaks into the hallways, etc). These students are autistic. They need so much. How does a person go about getting funding from these people who have money and claim they want to help the communities?

  1. Typically, a person like Bill Gates doesn't give money away themselves-they have people that do it for them.  For example, Bill's accountant might say, "we need to donate $1 million dollars" and would start a corporation or foundation to do that.

My best advice would be to find a similar cause that received funding and find out who the funding was from.  Then contact that organization for funding.

Finally, these foundations like to publicize their donations because it gets the donor goodwill.  Therefore, don't sell the feature of the cause, sell the benefit of the donation.  In other words, "Joe Blow helped to build a school." won't be as effective as "Joe Blow helped 10 students become doctors so they could help their community."

  2. If you write a letter to Bill Gates' father, he will respond.  He is in charge of the charity effort. /
