Question:

How would be the best way to dye my dark hair blond?

My natural hair colour is medium brown though it is dyed dark brassillia brown right now. I'm wanting to make a complete change to a pure, natural looking blond, like these celebrities:

Or,

Has anyone got any tips/methods/product ideas? Should I do it myself, and use any particular brand/dye/bleach? I don't want to end up with a dirty-blond look though, like this:

Thanks so much ^_^

  1. You can't dye your brown hair blonde, you bleach it blonde.  =)

    As the first response suggested, get it done professionally and then you should only need your roots touched up.

    A home job could severly fry your hair and that would be a bad experience don'tcha know.  =)

    I wouldn't recommend going such an extremely light blonde to start off with, what if you really don't like the look?  It would be such a drastic change that I think you and everyone you know would be shocked and find it hard to get used to!  Just my view but, do what you think is going to be best for you.  Enjoy the new look!

  2. you shouldnt dye your hair that light blonde because the chemicals they use to make it that color for ur hair would ruin it and make it dry and NEVER dye it at home especially if u have dark hair i know u dont want to go dirty blonde but instead of making a drastic change and dying it all blonde maybe u should get highlights like the ones nelly furtado has in the last pic if i sounded rude i didnt mean to me its just that i did that before cause i had dark brown hair and i dyed it all blonde and i dodnt like all of it i have lots of blonde highlights like the last pic and it looks really good hope this helps<3

  3. Get It Professionally done by someone good that looks like they know how to dye hair.

    If you use that box stuff, it could damage your hair and the color could look different than it did on the box

    :D

  4. hairdresser. DON'T do it yourself.

  5. If the hair is coloured medium brown now and you desire a pale blonde, I would not suggest to attempt this yourself due to the fact to create the shade you want, the stylist is going to be using strong colouring agents to lift out your artificial colour and then work with whatever shade your at then with deposit colours. Or they may choose to do it slowly be foiling, which will increase your blonde more gradually. My best advice for you is prep the hair for the task with good deep conditioning and have a consult with a qualified colourist. During the consultation they will go over everything, including damage and price, with you. Good luck! :}
