Or would they? Who will get the money? What safeguards are there to ensure the money is never used for other purposes? Can we trust GW supporters with our tax dollars?

  1. This should not exist because global warming is nothing to be afraid of.

  2. I have tried to understand this one and all I come up with is some pea-brained scheme

to let the rich keep polluting, while supposedly paying a tax to the countries that don't pollute.

The coal-fired plants will still burn coal, the gas guzzling cars and trucks will still drink gas and spew pollution.  In other words, life will go on as in the past, only someone won't feel so guilty about being a mega-polluter

    because they paid the tax.

  3. There is NO economic difference between Cap & Trade and a "carbon tax" --- just semantics-- BOTH would broadly negatively affect all Americans----Read this:

  4. you mean can we trust GW supporter politicians with our tax dollars? right?

In the past, lots of politicians (regardless their support to GW) didnt really do what they promised during their campaigns, it's known to happen.

They could be audited by other government agencies but they usually tend to protect each other....

Trust is perhaps all we can do....

  5. GW will probably use them to buy everyone aircon

  6. If we were to enact a carbon tax (which is not currently being proposed), the funds would likely go mainly to researching and subsidizing alternative energy.

This would be part of the legislation to enact the tax, just as it's part of the current legislation to enact a carbon cap and trade system.
