Your a little young to be engaging in this type of activity but since it seems like you made up your mind about it then I commend you for using contraception and I would advise you to use condom also for added protection and piece of mind. But to answer your question just be frank about it to your mom and talk it out completely with her and maybe she can help you with the emotional aspect of it and give you advice.  I am sure she will be bother that you made this decision but your parents will never give you bad advice even if you do not follow their advice.  Just remember they been where you been and they only want the best for you.

Based on your other questions I'd say if you want to go on the pill to help with menstrual cramps you might have better luck asking your mom something else.  Instead of asking for the pill, ask your mom to come with you to your doctor to discuss your cramps.  You may find that your doctor has other ideas to ease the symptoms.  Or you may find that your doctor recommends the pill for the problem your mother may be less resistant to the plan.  

However, keep in mind that if you do decide to have s*x the pill isn't the best protection against disease.  You still want to use condoms until you're in a monogamous relationship.
