How would i connect my cable box with my computer?

i want to connect with my cable box with my computer so i can use my program channel master. is there some sort of cable to connect if there is please tell me

  1. It's actually a device. You plug your cable into one end, and use a USB connection to get to your computer. With a proper software/firmware update on your computer, you should be able to use a program like Windows Media Center to change channels, record shows to your hard drive, etc.


  2. First you need to know a little bit about your computer.  Chances are you can't.  Most standard video cards do not have a video input connection, just video output; however, if your computer has a dedicated tv tuner or if your video card has an integrated tv tuner (ie ATI all in wonder series), then you should see a coaxial connection in the back.

    Since you're asking this question, you probably should ask someone to help with this, but the short answer is: 1) look at the back of your computer.  2) if there is a coaxial connection,  hook the cable to that connection.  3) follow the instructions for using the TV tuner in your video card's manual.

    If you have no coaxial connection in the back of your computer, then you probably need to purchase a tv tuner.
