As a matter of fact, the proper way to write an enveloppe in India is the opposite way of the Western one :

First you write

1) India

2) State

3) City

4) street address

5) Name of the recipient.

sounds strange but when you think about it it is more logical.

That's how it is officially done in India but I think that, if you write it the Western way, it will also reach its destination without any problem.

Stamps : ask your postoffice clerck. It depends on the weight and the country of origin.
