  1. shes not gifted its a blessing that shes learning this good job to u and ur daughter she is smart!

  2. Everyone's gifted. But your child has a very good mental ability. She will probably grow up as an honor student. Be proud. : )

  3. you feel special my cousin in 2 years old and can count to 100

  4. thats good but dont rush anything. dont make her learn how to read and such because it is not necessary yet and it will just stress her out.

  5. have her tested

call your local school and see if there is anyplace around that will test a young gifted child

  6. My daughter is two and she can also spell her own name and count to 15... i just try to encourage her to learn more, she is still a child after all :)

  7. check this site.  it lists down 14 characteristics of a gifted child.  http://www.readersdigest.com.ph/rd/rdhtm...

i bet your daughter is gifted.

  8. I agree with Matt about the label of "gifted"  Lets say this "you are proud of your child's successes!!  I think the main reason a child is tested for "gifted" abilities is so that the "special needs," that could possibly be a hindrance, are considered.  It does sound corny but they all do have a gift. (as Matt said) I think that the testing/evaluation should not be about your ego but the development of your child.  If you consider this "gift" to be a indication of what your child needs developmentally and not an "award" then you have put her first.  I believe that you have a lot of interest in the welfare of your child by posting this.  I would continue to challenge her and have an evaluation done.  Your relationship with her is most important within this entire process.

  9. Be careful about applying a label to your child and try to protect them from that as best you can.  "Gifted" or not, you can give her the best and find a teacher that can take her at whatever level she is at and go with it.

You can observe her and find out what her strengths and interests are.  Also, she can be observed to find out what she needs to work on.

    I'm sure she's gifted....all children are.

  10. At this age. most children are like sponges.  It's amazing what they can take in.  Some will blossom into school-aged honor students, while others will be the true geniuses that might not know when to come in out of the rain.  Either way, if you love your child, communicate with them and encourage whatever they are good at doing, you will have a well-rounded child.

Like one reading specialist told me, by the 4th to 5th grade, no one can tell who was the smartest or who strugged the most in Kindergarten:  all of them have hormones and are acting like the preteens they are!

  11. She is definetly an amazing gift from God you should be proud!

  12. not to be mean, but before 2 i could write my name, count, and at 2 i read some little kid book my mom gave me, um and i also knew how to say all the players on the bulls. i knew my address and my phone number.. and by 3 i colored in the lines. and i wrote my ABC's some kids are very smart when they are younger, especially if there is more than one person taking care of them. shes very intentive, so keep reading to her, and teaching her new things. and her knowledge will keep growing. dont stop teaching her, my boyfriend has a little cousin who is 2 and her parents don't teach her anything and still today she can only say a certain number of words. your obviously a great parent, i think if u want, you can start teaching her the presidents, and differnt languages. don't forget to reward her with lots of love. =]

  13. My son is much the same, he is aged 2 years 4 months, he can recognise letters, number 1-9. count to 14, recognises his name and can spell 'josh' what he is known as rather than joshua... She does sound giftedm and a very quick learner. I am not to sure where u are from but in england. we use a curriuclum caled the foundation stage curriculum, which is for children ages 3-5, as a nursery nurse I am quite familuar with this. what you descibe are what she should be able to, before the she turns 5.  If she is not in nursery or preschool u can help her develop her skills, by teaching her to read and write t key words, even if she is just coping them, or even teach her the sounds of the words and try to spell them.. for example the sounds in the word book, she may spell b-u-k, or thing like c-a-t. key words are those used alot. e.g the.they. it,. If she is in nursery, u can talk to the staff there and ask them what they think, and if they have any obswrvations of her being clever.

  14. It sounds like your little is very gifted and she is worth the time you spent with her. Time is the best gift you can give your children. Start her in music and you will see how discipline she can really be. Congratulations on your wonderful and gifted child..She is on the right path.

  15. ASk her the following questions:

    4+4=?

    Spell Coin, Couch, Cup, Costs

    DO THE ABC's.

    Spell _____ (<--Child Name)

    12 Months

Write Cat, Fish, Dish, Dog and Last Name

  16. She will be identified when she attends school.  As long as she is learning so quickly, make sure that she is surrounded by a variety of stimulating experiences, as others suggested, including music, art and sports.  It goes without saying that sitting with her and reading to her will be invaluable to her for the remainder of her life.

  17. You would probably have to see an child education specialist about your child being gifted. He or she can administer tests to see if your child is gifted.

A child can be gifted in so many ways, yet some intelligence or the ways a child can be gifted can not be measured by tests. For example, social skills and flexibility to various situations.

It seems she has is great at picking up things like recognition of the alphabet and numbers. This is a good thing, since it preps her for kindergarten and preschool.

I believe being gifted is a wonderful thing, and your daughter may be gifted. A suggestion from me is to encourage learning in your daughter and emphasize other values as well like kindness, social skills, and humor. Sometimes, I feel that there is too much stress on children to be gifted or to know so much at a young age and other things are over looked.

  18. As much as I respect all of the answers already given I personally do not feel testing a child at this age is a good idea. I would just keep activities where she will continue to learn and grow. Do all the academic type things in fun ways, with games, songs and dances. Let her learn to socialize and become an all around little girl by being with other preschoolers through sports, preschool, playgroups, music time etc. Have lots of books and supplies on hand for pre-writing and small motor skills. Let her enjoy being a child.
