How would i know if my T.V can do a 480p?

I have a Samsung 20 inch with front/rear A/V jacks, (red, white and yellow) the tv is 11 years old, (yes thats right 11 years, and works like a charm) i want to know if i can play the wii on 480p using some kind of adapter or something

There is NO possible way for you to view in 480p.  480i is the best you gonna get.  

Get a new tv.

it definitely cannot do 480p if it is 11 years old no matter how well it works. EDTV(480p resolution) was not yet invented back then.
