  1. You can have your dealer fax a copy of his FFL to the place you are buying and they will ship to same.  If you don't have an FFL dealer most outfits will provide a list of FFL holders in your area for you to contact.

  2. You need to find a local dealer that will do the FFL transfer.

    Most charge somewhere around $20.

You purchase the rifle, have it shipped to the local FFL

The local FFL must send a copy of their FFL license to the seller.

The local FFL does the Brady Bunch paperwork for you and then you have the rifle.

All of this is pending the legality of the rifle in your City/State.

  3. With most of the online vendors I have dealt with you cannot order unless you have an FFL

The gun must be shipped to the address on the FFL

You will have to get a local dealer to order the gun for you or you can apply for an easily obtainable C&R FFL that will cost you the same amount that the dealer is going to charge for the transfer and have the gun shipped to your house

  4. You speak with the local dealer first. Most large online distributors have a "find a dealer" place on their websites. Find you local dealer and call him and tell him where you got his name and you want "the SKS VG at $199 from XYZ company". He will tell you the process. He may just order it on his account and give you a final price including shipping and his fees (should be about $40 to $50 on top of the rifle price)
