If you want to write books your best of starting small. Build up a portfolio of work that has been published. The first site below will be able to publish small articles you write while the second one will be good to publish some and sell them on. There will be other sites around as well that you can sell you articles through.

when it comes to the publishing getting a good and recognized agent (an agent with a reputation for selling good books) helps because thats where i screwed up.

it's not something you can start whenever you want, I mean there

must be a reason behind this, why do you want to be an author? and

what are you planning to write, a book? a novel? it depends.

Then maybe you'll be free to look for agents who could publish your work.
