How would i start an organization that donates hanmade gifts such as pillows or cards to hospital patients?

i dont want to make money..i just have a lot of hobbies...does that sound like a good idea? how would i go about doing that? do i need to get a lawyer and all that ? HELP?

There are plenty of organizations that do that.  Contact the hospital and speak to volunteer services and they will explain the system

You could pick just one hospital, and speak with their patient advocate and they will be able to help you get started & also all the appropriate procedures. That is a FANTASTIC idea, couldn't think of a better way to spend time. Good Luck :)

The best places are sometimes churches and small cathedrals where you can make a quick announcement at the end of the mass to plead your cause. People in churches tend to be really generous and caring. That is why they are catholics.

Why not start by just donating locally and find out what the need is?

I don't have the time to make that much stuff, but it's pretty easy to give a call to your local hospital and ask the Auxillary if this is something that can be donated for use by patients.

For instance, I can't even keep up with the knitted small toy requests at my local hospital.  They give them to kids having surgery. This way I can help MY community and the hospital can tell me what the requirements are (washable, no button eyes, no wool, etc.).
