  1. You answered your own question, my dear.

It would lower crime here in the US as well.  It would also stop draining millions of dollars from police departments who spend money fighting "the war on drugs" which is a losing war.  People go to jail for marijuana who otherwise lead perfectly productive lives, many of these people have to STOP CONTRIBUTING to society when they are thrown in jail, because of a little weed.  You can't pay income tax to uncle sam when you are in prison.

We spend resources on trying to protect people from this substance that is less harmful than alcohol.  The way I see it, it's better for the economy than alcohol.  It (generally) costs more per ounce for one thing- the government should be taxing it! (in fact, it's only illegal because they didn't get in on taxing it early enough!)  Secondly, when people get drunk, they sometimes fight, do damage to property or cause car accidents, which are sometimes fatal.  When people are high on marijuana, they sit at their house, and order pizza.  Ordering pizza stimulates the economy.

We'd be smart to legalize too.

  2. Millions in tax revenue....Eliminate underground crime element....allow for oversight and quality control....just to name a few

  3. Lowering crime is only one reason.

If marijuana was legalized in Puerto Rico the government could grow and sell marijuana. The government could also tax marijuana sold. This would help with funds for the country.

Also, the jails would not be as crowded due to stupid marijuana crimes that are completely harmless.

  4. well, there you go - of lowering crime is good, there is your answer.

  5. Don't bet on it. The Feds already have a case pending in California over the medical use of marijuana.

  6. It will lower crime? Why, because they will all be too stoned to be motivated enough to get off the couch and commit a crime.

  7. Sure.  The more things you make legal the less crimes there are to be violated.  Besides, once it is legal they can tax the hel* out of it!!

  8. ROFL!

then they should also legalise rape, murder and theft. That should brig the "crime rate" down even further!

After all if all such acts are legal- there is NO crime (only dead and hurt people- but that doesn't count to any politician)

I also find it funny to hear smoking tobacco is evil, but smoking pot is OK. As if cancer was caused by tobacco only...
