  1. My guess is she's a niece to your cousin, maybe once removed.

  2. If your cousin is a first cousin, they would be first cousins once removed. If your cousin is a second cousin, they would be second cousins once removed, and so on. Whatever degree (1st, 2nd, 3rd . . .) you and your cousin are, your daughter is the same, once removed.

When (if) your cousin has children, they will be one more degree than you two; if you are first, they will be second; if you are second, they will be third, and so on.

When (if) your daughter has a child, that child will be your 1st cousin's 1st cousin TWICE removed, because there are now two generations difference.

  3. it will be a second uncle or aunt

  4. They are first cousins once removed.  Check out this relationship chart.

  5. They are first cousins, once removed by the generation. There are charts showing these relationships in the geneology websites.

  6. 1st cousin once removed means a person and their first cousins child.

  7. if you and your cousin are first cousins, then your relationship with each other's offspring are "once removed"... so your child is your cousin's FIRST COUSIN ONCE REMOVED...

  8. A more helpful relationship chart (enlarge) is found in Wikipedia--"Canon Law Relationship Chart".

I used the same one I found in "Order" by Helga Pherson for years until I got my computer.  It's a lot easier to visualize.

  9. if it is ur cousin it would be ur daughters 2nd cousin

  10. I would call my parent's cousin my second cousin
