How would one get into wedding planning as a career? do you need qualifications??

    You do not need any degree for a wedding planner, but you will most likely be doing all sorts of events and not just weddings (to keep money coming in)

  2. Depending where you live there may be licensing you may need.  You can check with your local state licensing board.

    Experience in sales, customer service, and party planning is a major must.  Relationships with local vendors and a knowledge of local services and venues.  

    Go to a few local bridal shows and talk to the planners there!  

  3. i've actually been thinking about doing this to. Just look up some local colleges and most school provide a course called Event Planning which helps you run your own business. You can also look online for a correspondence course that you can do from home and get fully qualitfied. You don't even need to take a course but it's good to so you are provided with all the info on how to be successful!! :) good luck!! in the mean time, maybe work part time at a hotel in the event planning department to get some experience!!
