How would one get into working in a school for special needs children?

I'm currently studying for a joint degree in French (language and literature) and English (literature), and am considering taking a PGCE after I graduate. However, would it be best for me to do a primary PGCE or a secondary school one in order to do this? Or are there other options?

  1. It depends on which level you wish to teach secondary or primary.and which area of special need you wish to specialize in.eg intellectually and phisically disadvantage or slow learners and gifted children or students with reading disabilities ect
