I know a person that had nervous breakdown, but I've often wonder if you had one, would you even know you did? How could you tell if you went past that breaking point?

I didn't want to embarrass the person by asking them how they knew, but I'm curious now

  1. not being able to sleep enough, always things / issues on the mind, feeling nervous and restless, sweating, intolerance to normal noise etc etc etc.

  2. many people can get that if they are people that get stress easy & cant take the stress of them

    I get it sometimes

    is normal

but i get stress-full for anything:(

  3. You feel like everything that worries you in life is closing in on you and you don't know what to do. I was seriously unhappy with myself.

Luckily, I was able to talk to my mom about all my problems, and it made me feel a lot better. She helped me realize things that I never thought about before, and made me see my life in a whole new perspective. :)

  4. you may realize this after a while, when you become rather disfunctional, in that your work capacity can be affected, your relationships with people, etc.

  5. When i was 12 I became so thoroughly convinced that I was evil and a sinner and going to h**l that I gave up all hope. I cried for about... 4 hours and my mother found me weeping in a ball in the living room.

That's when they talked about putting me on meds.... I'm pretty sure that was a nervous breakdown.

  6. Great question. If you didn't know what it was you'd just keep on running harder and harder with your one foot nailed to the floor and a hook in your back.

I couldn't see things anymore things like words in a book or on a computer it's like blacking out kinda thing. I could read word for word in my head while thinking about something else and realize that I didn't absorb anything I just read. Sleep is impossible. and yet Waking up is impossible.Listening to someone speaking to you is like what I said about reading you can see there lips move but your thinking about something else yet you thought you were listening until you realize you have no idea what they just said. your memory is the mostnoticeablee thing. but really there is way more going on you just don'thavev a grip. It's like living in cybor space you have no idea what is left orrightt anymore you have to almost go back to when you were a kid just to think about which hand is the right one. THe worst part is that you don't know what is happening to you. It's not like a wound where you can see yourself bleed or a bone is broken it's like a constant state of shock but you don't really know it your just trying super hard to pick up where you left off. It's a friggen nightmare with no beginning nor an end.

Oh another note is the flash backs, flash forwards and then some. Visions passing through your mind at 1000 miles per minute all with attached braches of history, emothions etc trying to resolve. It consumes you and is overwhelming. It's amazing that I'm still around and trying to over come.

  7. To be honest with you, it can creep up on you before you have realised how bad your state of mind has got. The little signs are felling like everything is getting too much and everything becomes a big chore, lack of self esteem, not wanting to see anyone (shutting yourself away), slight trembling, feeling unable to cope with normal everyday things like going to the shops, washing eating meals etc. Also, tiredness and knowing that you cant concentrate on things for very long. Lastly, sadness and a feeling of despair. Basically, sometimes it happens quite quickly, but if any of these signs "stick out" then best to do something about it before it takes over...
