How would one pronounce 'slalom' - it's a skating term.?

Sometimes it's hard to "read" how a word is supposed to be pronounced, even if it's spelled out.

As someone said before, you should listen to the pronounciation rather than have someone spell it out for you. As for the skating term, yes, it is like doing sculling, or swizzles but having your feet together at all times. You might have seen people do it in sking, leaning over to the left then to the right.
