She has a boyfriend she's been with for quite a few months.

Would you be mad, if so, what would you do?

  1. I once came home from a party with a huge lovebite on my neck (15yrs old at the time).  My parents just laughed it off because it was so obvious that i was utterly mortified and trying to hide it!  I think that so long as she doesnt make it a regular occurence, becuase they really are hideous, then i wouldnt come down hard on her . . .just maybe tease her about it a bit.  Teenagers do stuff like that, its a phase and it really doesnt do any harm.

  2. Take her to family planning, because if she isn't active yet she soon will be.

  3. Honestly I wouldn't be mad,I wouldn't make a huge deal out of it either. If you make a huge deal out of a hickey, then your daughter will try and get to her boyfriend more and then that leads to things.Once you pull away a couple of teens who are so called "in love" then they do everything possible.

My friend had a bf she wasn't even suppose to be seeing and she was sneeking over his house and he left a huge hickey on her neck and her parents flipped ****,and it lead her to go back to the guy and do even more things with him and that happened.

So just talk to her about it,don't yell at her, don't automatically ban her from seeing her bf.Just talk to her about limits she should be having with him

  4. I'd be mad. I'm only 24 and I'm not what I would consider "old" yet, but I would still be very angry. I'd probably ground her, and definitely she'd get a good tongue lashing. If she got that, who knows what else they were doing while she was getting it (sorry, but it's true). Then again, I'd have a hard time letting my 15 year old date anyhow too. I'd also find the boy and tell his parents.

  5. Your 15 year old daughter has a hickey?

Okay... if you let her have the boyfriend, then I would probably be okay with it. Just tell her that it is not something she should want to show off because guys could think she was easy. But, no, I wouldnt spazz because you have no proof of anything besides that one hickey.

  6. as in a hickey?

i'd be very upset with her. no 15 year old should be doing something that sexual....

i'd stop what ever it was that was able for them to be alone like that. was she at his house? don't let her go over there anymore...

and i'm guessing i'm getting thumbs downs about the part where i said it's too sexual... idk about all the other adults on here but i know for a fact that when you recieve a hickey the guy isn't just standing there, not touching you while sucking on your neck........

these are the kind of things that lead to s*x.

stop it before its too late.

  7. It's not an enormous deal in the grand scheme of things.  I'd have a talk with her about "appropriate conduct" if her lovebite is going against some moral family standard, but I wouldn't really worry about it.

  8. Explain that she looks trashy... keep the lovebites in areas that can be covered by clothing.

  9. no. i wouldn't be mad.

  10. Think back to when you were 15? - wait till she comes in and tells you shes pregnant then you can complain - I don't mean to be rude but your problems have only just started.

  11. i wouldnt be mad, shed then think your aginst the whole thing, even if you are, and will not trust you to talk about problems in relationships ect. i would talk to her about it as it's getting quite serious!

    x

  12. If she's doing that, then she's not JUST doing that, ya know what I mean?  That was only 4 years ago for me, and I was doing a lot of stuff I wouldn't have told my mom.

  13. 15, no i wouldnt be angry but i would want to meet the guy (or girl) who gave it to her.

  14. have you had the "talk"? you know what the next level is

  15. Talk to her and find out whats going on in her life before i kick her A** and her boyfriend's . Oh and ill have a serious talk  with  him too and enforce a few rules. Too much young people are doing what they want and getting away with it then doing it again. Don't let her child, think she is grown and can do as she please. Talk to her! Its the best thing you can do.

  16. I'd be supervising their dates.  She'll be coming to you soon calling you grandma.

I'd be supervising any of my kids' dates.

Edit: What's up with everyone saying parents need to stay out of their minor childrens' private lives???????  Good grief!!!  When they are adults, yes, but my goodness, they are CHILDREN being supported by their parents.  So, if the minor child becomes a teen parent, should the adult parents "stay out of it"?

  17. If it was on her neck or upper chest I wouldn't mention it and let it pass it's quite common especialy in England, if everyone else in her school is getting involved hen she is quite lickely to aswell. If she gets another one then question her about it and say I don't think it's the right thing for you to be doing at this age because you can easily let it slip into something else.

  18. No don't be mad, she is growing up and having fun, at least its not just off anybody, and atleast she is coming home (:

  19. I wouldn't be mad but I would express my disappointment as lovebites are so trashy.

  20. When my brother came home with lovebites on his neck, ( he was fourteen ) my parents were just like, "what happened," he as like, "nothing,"

They left it at that, he didnt want to talk about it, it's his private liife, and I dont think you should interfere - ask her about it, if she didnt like the situation and regrets it im sure she wont go there again.

  21. I would be very angry and frankly I don't have a daughter.  If I did I would sit her right down and tell her in plain English this is not appropriate and she better act like a lady.  I would also talk to the young man and tell him IF this ever happens again she will not be allowed with him.

  22. my mother is an open minded person, she gives me freedom and all that specially her trust! so i if was a mum i wouldn't be mad but just warn her to be careful because from a simple love-bite you might be called grandma in a few 9 months just tease her a bit and ask her what happened if she says nothing than drop she'll get over it i think it's just a phase but i myself a teenager around the same age as her and i personally think hickies are like eck! so nasty and disturbing

  23. I think i would be mad

but then get over it eventually

  24. Give her a break she has a boyfriend, tell her to get some make up!!!!

  25. I think i would be mad, i think at an older age yeh but at the moment she has to go to school like that and she is so young. It gives off the wrong messages and its not even hygenic. Id tell her if she did it again i would ground her from seeing him.

  26. My mother always told me they were inappropriate and now that I'm a little older (I'm only 19... but I wasn't the best behaved kid in high school) I understand that she was right. Just tell her that its inappropriate and if she and him cannot find other things to do then she'll be grounded.

  27. I would be upset, but try not to make a huge deal of it.

I would also try to limit her "alone" time with her boyfriend ~

  28. I wouldn't worry too much about it, although I would sit down and have a chat with her, just to make sure that she understands all about that and the sexual aspects concerned

  29. dont freak out -- at least she has a monogomous relationship -- if you have a serious boyfriend you dont get hickeys from anyone but him

  30. Being a 15 year old right now, i know i am probably a little bias, but i know that if you start getting mad at her, she will either do it more on purpose to annoy you or she might in the end just be so scared she won't ever trust you with any secrets ever!

    Be nice, and understand!

  31. I'd be happy for her, however I'd lay ground rules and have a serious discussion.
