How would someone live in Spain if they are a US citizen?

My daughter wants to move to Spain. She is a US citizen. She wants to live and work there. How would she be able to live and work in Spain?

As with most EU countries, there's a long, paperwork intensive process.  A generalized guide is below, but if she's serious then she'll have to get some work experience and apply for the relevant visas.  Perhaps a Spanish lawyer would be the way to go.
