How would someone make 1 molar solution of sodium chloride?

can someone describe that for me in detail? i never understood that concept.

  1. 1 molar means 1 mole / 1 L of solution

    Mass of 1 mole of NaCl = 58.44 g/mol

    You make this solution adding 58.44 g plus enought water to reach the volume of 1 L
