Just imagine, what would they do or try to do if they see a modern computer (desktop or laptop, doesn't matter) at their time? Will they try to use it or destroy it?

  1. Think of how much wouldn't have gotten done.  God I spend enough time here not doing anything.

  2. They would take it to their leader or the local wealthy person in order to find favor with that person. That person would show it off in order to prove how great they were to have something special at their command. The first written account of the shroud that I know of was a woman who traded it for a castle. I suppose you could get a nice residence and a few thousand acres for a computer. I don't think that they would destroy it but maybe put it in an urn and bury it.

  3. ummm no electricity.... they would likely disregard it, unless somehow facinated by it materials.

  4. They wouldn't care because they wouldn't know how to use it.  They might think it was possessed if you showed them a video of a person on it.

  5. How would you react to a foreign piece of technology that just appeared, and you had no idea how to activate it?  If someone went along with the computer and showed how it could be operated, I imagine the ancients would be a lot less surprised or confused than you think.  After all, they were used to and generally accepting of the idea that there were magic receptacles that could dispense information.  What would make this box different from other oracles would only be a slightly higher rate of accuracy depending on what kinds of information someone was seeking.  Just like other Oracles, they would still need an intermediary (a preist, preistess or our theoretically time traveling computer operator) in order to interface with the information source.

  6. They might sniff it first, perhaps!

  7. Absolutely try to use or figure out what it does however, if theres no electricity to accompany it, maybe just build shrines.

  8. If they had seen it working they would be understand its a device or machine but be puzzled that it was so small and had no obvious moving parts.

Oddly I think they would understand a touchpad function since they used tablets coverd with soft wax to take temoprary notes.

  9. Romans Feed it to the lions as they did with anything else that they couln't handle

    Egytians. Worship it.

Greeks.Take it apart to see how it worked.

  10. A modern computer? Is that opposed to a computer from their era?  LOL... Seriously though they probably would have thought it was some sort of demon box and smashed it into a million pieces.

  11. they wouldn't be suprised especially the greeks who invented the computer.
