How would the British people feel if Prince William married an African chick - a black chick?

I'm just really curious to know the reaction of the Brits to this.

Well as an Irish person whose fore bearers have had to yield to the term `Brit`. I personally think it would be great. The last Bastille of the stiff upper lip British regime would at last be able to let their hair down and just admit that once and for all they are just as human as you or me. The press would have afield day of course. It was recently reported that he went into a supermarket with some Friends and bought loads of beer  to watch the football, paying (wait for it) with his own credit card!!!!! I ask you have the press gone completely off their rocker!!!! Of course he did `cos that is just a normal thing to do, people do it all the time. You do know he`d have to abdicate or give up his claim to the throne. Personally I think William and Harry are a breath of fresh air but I wouldn`t describe my self as a royalist by no means.

Actually, I don't think they'd give a flying f.  I'm surprised the royal family is still around.  I thought Brits were more reasonable than this.

I don't think it would happen, the royal family interferes too much on each others lives so I would say it would be a miracle to happen.

But I guess I would be okay with it since today the Royal family doesn't do much as  before, we've got prime ministers! The Barons, dukes, duchesses, and etc are gone.

Did you really need to ask this question?  I don't know how the British would feel as a people but considering the fact that one person was forced to abdicate the throne for simply marrying a divorcee, I don't think interracial dating is going to fly.  Besides, I remember an interview with Diana and she was talking about the rumors printed in the tabloids and she said, "next they'll be saying I have a black lover" and had a great laugh with the interviewer.

It doesn't matter how the British public feels about royal marriages. Its the Queen's and parliaments concern alone. Considering that its the year 2007, if the sovereign denied a prince or princess the right to marry someone simply because of race, a constitutional crisis may occur and they might be asked to step down.

I'm not British, but I think it would be great!  However, I don't know if Prince William would do that because the Queen probably wouldn't want him to marry out of his race.
