How would the GOP act if Palin's daughter was a member of Obama's family?

Here's how I think it would play out....

It would be talking point #1 on every conservative show from TV, to radio to the internet for the next 2-3 weeks.

McCain would be running non-stop ads in every battleground state with the message "Is this the kind of family values you want in the White House?"

Karl Rove and his goons would be spreading rumors about rape and incest, even probably going as far as saying Bill Clinton fathered the child.

The religious right would completely come out against it. They would use this in furthering their brain-washing of their church followers, asking them to donate even more money to them to "stop babies born out of wed-lock."

So all of McCain's whining about the press coverage over this matter is laughable.

They would pounce with absolutely no mercy.... they would publicly ask how a candidate woud be fit to serve as a president or high office when he can't control his own children.

That's what politicians do... they pass moral judgements and then ignore them when they commit the sins.

And their followers do the exact same thing... how many people on here have said that Palin is being unfairly treated but kept silent (and in some cases agitated) the lies about Obama... and this IS the truth.

Both parties do this but the Republican party is more righteous when the evangelicals exerted their power on the GOP.  That type of Republican is the most righteous moralist than I have ever known and they set themselves up for hypocrisy.

If this was one of Obama's daughters pregnant, this whole thing would be totally different. the GOP would have a field day. and the media would be having no sympathy for Michelle Obama or Barack Obama. You would also hear racist comments like "typical black family".

This is so 100% true. McCain would be having a field day over this. I completely agree with you. I have more to say but I am so pist about this women being the potential VP. We all need to make sure we get out and vote. To have a woman who is anti-woman in the White house is a disgrace.

I agree with your statements.  Republicans denounce g**s, unmarried mothers, and adulterers as causing social problems.  Yet, when Republicans or their families are g*y (Cheney daughter), unmarried (Palin daughter), or unfaithful (Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani) we are told it's none of our business.

Since most Democrats are progressive or liberal we are not likely to make an issue out of these "social sins."  I would much rather have a President who lied about having s*x, than one who lied to get us into a war of personal vendetta.
