If the angle of a subducting plate changed with time how would the spatial distribution be affected if differing in age?

  1. The angle plays a lot in the pressure build up underneath the continent.  The the angle is steep say 125 degrees the build up of pressure will be a lot greater therefore cause a lot of acute volcanic activity.  If the angle is wider like 150 degrees there would be greater continental uplift and less pressure in the mantel.  There could be volcanic activity further inland because the pressure would build up further inland underneath the continent.
